Planet Earth II

When we look back on 2020, we won’t just think Covid-19. We will also think George Floyd and Black Lives Matter. This was the year in which the Lord exposed many types of racism in Western culture and when he stirred a hunger in believers and nonbelievers for major change. Tragically, some Europeans twisted the verses that we are looking at this week into a justification for the British Empire and the transatlantic slave trade. We need to be aware of this, and of the fact that the Christian Gospel is the greatest antidote to racism that the world has ever seen.
